Beautiful inside and out
Today's Bible class was amazing! Since it's week of prayer our guest speaker is Justin Kim. He spoke in our bible class for the last 2 days.
One of the things we talked about was 4 types of people. Ugly/ugly beautiful/beautiful, ugly/beautiful, and beautiful ugly. SO basically people who are beautiful on the inside and ugly on the outside, people beautiful on the outside but ugly on the inside and people who are beautiful completely or ugly completely. It really gets you thinking.
A girl came to me afterward and asked me for advice on life, she told me she wanted to be beautiful on the outside but wasn't as interested on being beautiful on the inside. She said she just wanted this guy to like her. I wasn't quite sure how to respond, especially with me being a 10th grader and her a senior. I told her that if she simply worked on being beautiful and loving on the inside it would shine through to her outward appearance. Secondly would you want a someone to love you for who you are or just for what you look like and what they think they can get from you? She responed that she didnt care why guys liked her, only that they did. I was completely at a loss for words, what do you say to someone after something like that? All I can really do is pray for her and continue to try to help her, I encouraged her to talk to another senior about these problems, because honestly I dont have enough life experience to know how to help her. Please pray for this girl.
My sincere prayer is that more people will strive for perfection on the inside then the outside. Our culture today makes girls feel like hey have to be drop dead gorgeous to be worth something. That is the biggest lie the entertainment industry is feeding us. I'm glad that there's a place like Fountain view that teaches otherwise. Praise God!
